About us.

“Dude…. I bet we could make a fortune writing Grants with AI” Cooper said. Jayde and I were instantly hooked.

Every Tuesday morning at 6:30 am in Kelowna, BC a group of Entrepreneurs hike Knox Mountain. It’s an average hike, but the early start always makes it feel harder. It’s the kind of hike that attracts people who like to do hard things. Lucky for me, entrepreneurs love a good challenge.

This particular Tuesday morning was a spicy one. It was like a sauna at 6:30 am (Kelowna’s a desert, go figure). Not because of the weather, but because chatGPT was just released to the public. And our squirrely entrepreneur brains were running on overdrive with ideas.

That’s where the idea that would eventually become Fundable.App started. Cooper (1/3rd of the founding team, and the best-looking) said “Dude, stay away from marketing copy, it will get saturated by all the existing SaaS companies. I bet we could make $1M in a year writing complex paperwork like Grants or Loans with AI”.

We knew absolutely nothing about grants. But I said “Give us a year, and we’ll know everything about grants.” So we started. Jayde started building the software. Cooper started to sell. I started to learn everything about grants and prompt engineering.

The idea took months to come together. Like all good ideas, once you start, the idea evolves into a more complete form. We realized we could build something really special. And now, one year later we’ve written 150+ grant applications. Raised over $50M in funding for some really great ideas. Our mission is becoming clearer, and it’s currently something like “help 100,000 good ideas come into the world”.

Here’s the thing with good ideas: They always surprise you. None of us set out to build a services company. And yet here we are, offering our superhuman grant writing services powered by our AI software tools. For the last year we’ve mostly been the "Services" in Software as a Service (SaaS).

We're not sure what the next year(s) will look like. For now, we're going to focus on helping the Entrepreneurs who need non-dilutive funding get it. We're going to help as many as we can. Because the world needs more small businesses.

Thanks,
Chris Bertulli
